Democracy.com
Democracy.com is the first online marketplace dedicated to empowering civic engagement, connecting candidates, organizations, and citizens.
My Role: This was a three month project in a two person team where my role included Art Direction, Product Design, and Motion Design with input from my creative director.
Where We Started
PROBLEM: The initial product experience was limited to basic politician biographies and ability to make campaign contributions, allowing little user engagement relevancy against competitors in new political climate.
GOAL: Create a platform that easily connects civilians and politicians to issues, organizations, and communities, increasing political and community engagement.
How We got There
Intuitive User Interface
High fidelity wireframes, interaction flows, and ensuring a consistent pattern library, and cohesive global design and interactions ensures a good user experience and creates seamless onboarding and use.
Easily Search For What Matters To You
Now more than ever, Americans need a platform that easily connects them to politicians and empowers them to be more involved in politics and more engaged in their communities by a simple search.
Having the search as the prominent feature on the home screen quickly allows users to dive into the what matters most to them. The predictive text and suggestion allows users to see common searches and suggestions based on their current interest.
Simple User Profiles
The core users of democracy.com are citizens and politicians.
Profiles are divided into citizens and politicians. As both engage with the site, create pages for issues and organizations, and respond to posts and pages. Civilian profiles can even be promoted to politician as they decide to run for office.
Political polls and petitions can also be created within the platform, to quickly gain traction on the issues users care about most.
Easy Forms of Engagement.
Citizens and politicians can simply engage with the community by creating pages for specific issues or organizations; they can make posts, create political polls, and discover and respond to others.
