OEX-Circle App
OEX Circle is a soft technology app for users to track the time off of their phones to engage in the environment and conversations around them.
My Role: This was a four month project in a two person team where my role included Ux, Ui, Visual Design and Motion Graphics.
PROBLEM
To encourage users to have digital separation and engagement in their environment and activities.
GOAL
To connect users gain community and track time spent "unplugged" with an easy to use interface, but not so visually distracting to encourage time spent off their phones.
HOW WE GOT THERE
RESEARCH AND STRATEGY
We knew that there needed to be an incentive for users to use the application and engage in their surroundings, but the application could not be so engaging as to distract users from the objective of using the application as a "real life" social tracking and connectivity application.
Starting from a single investor idea we started researching soft technology, creating personas and use cases to get a firm direction on product features heading into the MVP.
HELPING USERS CONNECT WITH SOFT TECHNOLOGY
Circle gives users an experience that lets them track the time fully engaging in the environment around them. This tool is not just used to track social experiences but in everyday situations including school, meetings, and events.
Users can connect with friends by placing their phones together and syncing to join the CIRCLE.
SOCIAL FITNESS SCORES AND ACTIVITY TRACKING
All users that are active in the circle have their hours logged and can be viewed on the leadership board in addition to global scores. This creates a community in and out of the app, as well as some healthy competition.
Social fitness scores are comprised of tracking users growth (circles), commitment (keeping up on your social fitness), and initiative (getting engaged with new circles).
